What is life? And What Does Life Mean To You?

Life allows us to explore, learn, and evolve. It’s the moments of joy that make us laugh uncontrollably and the moments of sorrow that bring tears to our eyes. Life is the constant interplay between challenges and triumphs, failures and successes, love and heartbreaks; I am sure all my readers have experienced them all.

It’s the bonds and relationships we form with family and friends, our connections with strangers, and our impact on the world. Life is a journey of self-discovery, a quest to find meaning and purpose. It’s a gift that invites us to savour every moment, to embrace the beauty of diversity, and to cherish the wonders of the natural world.

Life is a mosaic of memories and an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy. Essentially, life is what we make of it, an extraordinary adventure filled with both the mundane and the fantastic. It’s a mystery to be unravelled, a story to be written, and a journey to be cherished.

Life can take us on a path of emotions, with highs and lows that sometimes feel beyond our control. Let’s face it: we’ve all been there—overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or emotional turmoil. But what if I told you that a remarkable technique can help you regain your emotional balance and inner peace? Check it out for yourself—EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is a powerful yet gentle practice gaining traction for its transformative impact on emotional well-being.

What’s The Research?

Research propels humanity forward. It’s fuelled by curiosity. We get curious and ask questions, then immerse ourselves in discovering everything we need to know. Research allows us to disprove lies and support truths. Learning thrives. Without curiosity and research, life wouldn’t be the same.

Ok, let’s first explore the roots and research that supports EFT. Several studies shed light on the mechanics of ETF and how it positively influences our emotional state.

EFT, also known as “Tapping,” is rooted in the principles of acupuncture and modern psychology. It involves gently tapping specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on a particular emotional issue. This process balances the body’s energy system, reducing emotional distress.

A study published in the “Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine” in 2020 investigated the physiological effects of EFT. Researchers found that tapping on these meridian points stimulates the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good hormones. This hormonal boost can help reduce the intensity of negative emotions, offering relief from anxiety, stress, and even pain.

Furthermore, a study in the “Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease” highlighted the efficacy of EFT in treating post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The study found that participants who practised EFT experienced a significant reduction in symptoms like flashbacks and anxiety.

So, it looks like a good practice to learn, and the science speaks for itself: EFT isn’t just a New Age fad; it’s a great approach to emotional healing.

How to Practice EFT Tapping Therapy:.

Understanding the science behind it helps us explore how to practice ETF in our own lives. This technique’s beauty lies in its simplicity and accessibility.

Identify Your Issue: Identify the emotional issue you want to address. It could be stress from work, anxiety about an upcoming event, or unresolved trauma.

Setup Statement: Create a setup statement to focus your intention. For example, “Even though I feel anxious about the upcoming presentation, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

The Tapping Sequence: Using your fingertips, gently tap on specific acupressure points while repeating your setup statement. These points include the top of your head, the eyebrow, the side of the eye, under the eye, under the nose, the chin, the collarbone, and under the arm.

Release and Assess: After a few rounds of tapping, take a deep breath and assess your emotional state. Has the intensity of your negative emotion decreased? If not, repeat the process until you feel a shift.

Closure: Finish with a positive affirmation, such as “I choose to feel calm and in control”, to reinforce the positive change.
